About

AE-n-ee Lay-Mon-Yay
Annie LeMonnier
(noun)
20 year old New Yorker with a really fucking cute cat named Chia.

Annie 'n Chi is based around the life of myself, a vegetarian, eco-conscious, fashion student working in sustainability and matchmaking (long story), and my fur baby, Chia, who is none of these traits but is pretty cool otherwise.

Ever since the age of 13, I've found solace amongst the endless racks of thrift and charity shops; an activity started as vehicle to personal style, a way to escape from the monotonous and limited options of fast fashion chains marketed towards my demographic. Today, secondhand shopping has become much more than an aesthetic choice. With fast, low quality and cost fashion being rampant, my shopping habits have taken on a political and ethical tone towards the need for sustainability.

Not only does America's overseas manufacturing ways need to change, but ANC is a call for reform and awareness towards the true cost of what our cheap products and textiles are doing to our environment, society's shopping patterns, and the future of fashion.

Aside from speaking on the current crumbling of the textiles industry and how your Forever21 blouse was made through slave labor, I enjoy cheese fries, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, The Cure, true crime, and my other three (equally as loved) black cats, Sabrina, Buffy, and Nova.

Various style icons: Jane Birkin, Harry Styles, Edie Sedgwick, Camile Rowe, Mick Jagger, Stevie Nicks, Mathilda Lando, Diane Keaton, any grandma from Arizona, Vivienne Westwood, and David Bowie

-Annie

(If, for some reason, you're interested in hearing my pre-teen musings, for the past seven years (whoa.), I have been blogging on the site, How Fitting, since the age of thirteen but have since switched over in order to keep that as a separate part of my life. Let's keep the past in the past right?)
